California Privacy Laws

I'm really slow at times but I eventually catch on... "better late than never" I suppose, but this thought finally sunk in.

California has laws that are to protect actor/models... basically Privacy and Rights. These laws were enforced in order to protect their rights to privacy.

Now... with respect to 2257, California Adult Producers/Studios face the dilema of breaking California Laws by devulging this information.

This is where I'm probably a little slow, but...

Does anyone suppose that the Feds, knowing how much of the Adult Entertainment Businesses are located in California... just maybe... (follow me?)

I find that rather interesting.

If they don't follow 2257, they're not in compliance.

If they do follow 2257, then they're breaking California laws.

Federal laws outweight State laws so you should comply with the Federal law :)

At least thats my non-lawyer understanding of things.

What does the California law say? Does it keep the information private from those who have a relevant business relationship with the models as webmasters do?

I'm not all that clear as I'm not in CA.

But in talking with some of the studios that are, they expressed concern over having to release the actor/model information when that is against a California law.

As Lee stated, of course, Fed law does override any state law. So I would assume that would make them exempt from the CA law. Or at least would give them some relief.
