If a company in the adult industry wanted to move offshore .... where would be the best place to go that would answer the following concerns?
1. Liberal porn laws
2. Good banking system open to expatriate corporations
3. incorporation laws that allow foreign porn companies
4. able to obtain visa/mc merchant accounts
5. adult hosting companies
6. favorable or bearable taxation system
Any one with experience in this area that can offer suggestions?

Great questions. I'm not experienced, but do have some friends in the industry that have given me advice.
Here's some countries I've been told could answer at least the majority of your concerns:
Panama
Cook Islands
Isle of Man
Sweden (hear they have good laws in regards to porn, not so sure about their taxation system)
We are currently seeking a similar solution and looking at different options as well. Hope to get some more help from this thread.

3. incorporation laws that allow foreign porn companies ---yes.. but with 10k cash you can become a citizen so no problem
4. able to obtain visa/mc merchant accounts--THIS is the problem.. no good in that
5. adult hosting companies--- its going to be more expensive than in the us but we have good fast speed conections here
6. favorable or bearable taxation system--nobady pays taxes so its great

There is no one place to relocate. I have helped companies relocate, and each one is different. All the factors listed need to be considered, plus more. Is there good transportation, airports, hospitals, schools, secure banking, stable currency, what are the inflationary concerns, how stable is the government, even if porn is OK is the area gay friendly? You can't get the answers to all those questions from a bulletin board post!
Relocating cannot be taken lightly. It must be done right and to do so is typically very expensive. Even opening a branch company in a new country takes a lot of research before finding good locations--and there rarely is one location that is perfect. Sweden is porn-friendly and the society is accepting of gays. There are also very accepting of your profits in the form of taxation and if you intend to drink there your liquor bills will be astronimical. I recall paying $8 for a glass of beer in 1996 when college bars were letting students drink all night for $5 on "drink and drown " nights in the United States. Milk was $10 a gallon and gasoline $8. The standard of living was great but the cost of living was high, and in Sweden Winter=4 months of darkness.
Islands sound great but after a few months can become monotonous. If you live in Guam, you can walk the beach around the entire island in one day. If you like watching birds in your spare time, Guam is not the place since no birds live there anymore due to non-indigenous snake infestations and flying 8 hours to Hawaii means you are almost half way to Grandma's house for Thanksgiving. Family ties get very strained if you live on the other side of the planet.
Belize would be nice place for a gambling site or straight site but they aren't very happy with homos in their midst. Some Caribbean countries have attractive corporate and banking facilities but at least one will deport you, brand your passport and seize your bank account if the authorities discover you are marketing pornography.
If, after all this, you STILL think you are interested in moving offshore, give me a shout.
so much of what chad has said is true since i also "entertained" the idea of leaving the U.S but unfortunately as stated you give up one problem for another so always weigh your options carefully before leaping from the frying pan into the fire!Quote:
