Screengrab Question..

Just wondered what you folks are using to take screengrabs of your movie content?

Ive heard some programs can only pull grabs from the first frame in a clip and we wanted to avoid that because the first frame of a movie is usually the title and opening sequence LOL

Are there any programs that will let me go to a specific frame within the clip and pull a screencap from that frame?

Also, on a related topic, whats the best (read as cheapest LOL) software to get in order to take screencaps every 5 seconds to use as stills content?

I used a program called "SnagIt" back in the day. It was pretty easy to use. Granted that was 2 years ago almost, so I'm sure there are better programs out there now.

PowerDVD:

I spent maybe 30-seconds to configure it, and after that, a mere tap of the C key and voilà - hundreds of captures in an equal amount of seconds.

... and you can control your playback speed for better results (yes, others offer this as well).

i have used power dvd for grabs and it does do a nice job. If it is not a dvd your grabbing a frame from and if you have Nero you can grab a frame from Nero Vision.

i use a program that used to be called snatchit, but is now called frameshots. it's sooo easy, fast, and very little learning curve. you can do whatever you like - every 5 seconds is no prob. use the highest quality, and as long as the videos aren't blurry, you can use it for webmaster content.
