I honestly can't figure out why nobody has assassinated this man yet. I'm usually not an advocate of death in any situation, but in this one instance, I'd be all for it.
Perhaps we can start a KillFredPhelps.com Web site, and, with enough groundswell suppport, we might actually convince someone to do it! :)

I am right there with you on this one Ken. That is one news story I have been looking forward to seeing for a long time --- his obituary. This has got to be just about the most evil hateful man that has ever taken a breath.
The thing I find most interesting is that the 150 or so church members he has are mostly his family members. Seems like there must be some serious fornicating going on behind those compound walls..... I would lay a bet that out of those 54+ grandchildren that he has, he probably has a good chance of being the father as well. How else is it that this bunch of nuts is still breeding? They dont let any outsiders in and most of the followers are family members. Maybe this is the end result of long term in-breeding.
The only bright spot in all this is that I think he is viewed as a really bad joke by most of the world, rejected by every truly religious person I have seen comment, I dont thin he is taken serious by anyone outside his cult.
That said, I really dont think I could restrain myself if I were to come across him in person. I sure hope there is a special place in hell for people like him and his followers, if there is in fact such a place.
Let's see, what was it I used to hear a friend say --- "God, protect me from your followers"......
Actually, the worst thing you can do is give Fred Phelps ANY publicity. He thrives on it..negative or otherwise.
He's a mean, hateful old man that obviously hates his own life and takes it out on others. I know it's hard to do, but in THIS case, the stupid old man from Topeka and his 30 followers just aren't worth the hassle of even writing about them.
phelps and members of his church were at the Matthew Shepard funeral with signs that said Matt burn in hell etc. I won't even start on him and his teachings of pure hate.

and that is exactly why I gave up on religion and so called god -- too many messed-up folk are allowed to grab the helm and lead lost little lambs, whom are just itching to believe in something, toward a path of hate.
Fred Phelps is a truly hideous and ugly person!
I guess THIER god does not punish its worshippers for spreading hate.
