What has come out of the update, according to many if not most SEO people, is that how one does its linking to other sites and back has been hit the hardest.
Prior to Jagger if SiteA linked to SiteB and then SiteB linked back to SiteA, it helped you move ahead in the serps. The concept being that a link from another site to you added value or showed value of your site and so the more of those you had, the higher you climbed.
That has apparently all changed now.
If you link to SiteB and they link back to you it can actually be a detriment if SiteB is not on theme to your site. In addition it appears that 'recip links' of that nature are also of less value.
Also, the use of anchor text is degraded in importance in the new Algo so that if you have 100 sites linking to you using anchor text like 'adult dvd' it will be of less value as Google now assumes those are not 'natural' links but contrived links.
What is coming out of all this is that it just got a lot harder to manipulate the serps through link trades and generic anchor text.
Yes - this addresses the humorous inbound linking of "absolute failure" to the White House website, and "liar" to Tony Blair. Jagger erased that.Quote:

Jagger for me has been wonderful. It took a month for them to finally get everything organized, but when the dust settled, everything looked pretty good.
I'm now getting ranked for terms that I hadn't really put much work into.... like cute boys or czech boys.
