When do you give a refund?

I think I have heard every excuse in the book. I think I am too nice when it comes to refunds. When do you give a refund and when do you refuse one? Here are a couple examples.....

If they didn't like the site do you give a refund?
Their cousin signed up for the site?
They thought they cancelled?
They didn't know it would renew automatically?
Site too slow?

I am trying to think of some of the weirdest excuses I have had.

We are pretty quick at giving refunds....

After all, all they need to do is chargeback and you still loose.

But..after that is said.

We run the logs and check how many times the user used our system.
What IPs they have accessed it from.
And if there is a cause for fraud.

Then, if needed we blacklist him/her...or send them notes that we are about to submit them for fraud. If it's an honest mistake or they just didn't like what they say, and DIDN'T download everything then we just refund and blacklist.

But I'm sure I'm the only bitter tainted one here...

we only give a refund if we know there's a mistake on our part or poor service from tech support.
