$5k To Spend On Production Equipment - What To Buy?

That is the question :)

Right now i have an order in for a Panasonic Lumix however, the backorder for the camera has already been 1 month and im told its going to be at least another 2-3 weeks before Panasonic will even ship the thing to the suppliers :eek:

So im looking for complete production setup options - On a budget of $5k

I need to be able to shoot stills and movies (why i chose the Panasonic Lumix) i also need to have some kind of removable media to store the shoots on and probably lighting setups and various other props.

Any of you producers have any suggested setups i should be looking at getting please?

plus they are on wheels ..

2000 watts is plenty..

for digital camera i would go with the Nikon D70s is what i got

.. and i have the Sony HD FX1 but you already got the panasonic cam

Actually, i dont have any cam right now because the wait was to long for the Lumix i wanted so im starting from scratch hehe

it took me a while to figure out the equipment to buy i wanted some nice stuff since it will last me a long time... :D

Interesting discussion.

Some high definition cameras I'm looking at are:

The Sony HDR-HC1 which costs about €1500 (I assume a bit less in USD or CAD). Very lightweight and small but still high definition.

and the Canon XL H1 (approx €7600)

or the Panasonic AG-HVX200 (approx €6000)

Has anyone used these or other high definition cameras?
