Wired Mag: iBill leaked private info of 17 million!

Records from 1998 to 2003 of 17 million people who used iBill had their information such as names, address, phone numbers, IP addresses, emails, credit card type, usernames, logins, purchases information and amounts purchased leaked on the web and traded by scammers

A security company accidentaly found two files, one with data of 17 million customers, the other with over a 1 million on a website set up by scammers.

And I love this quote from the security company guy:

What happened with the records from there is anyone's guess. The 1 million addresses found by Sunbelt Software were being used for spamming. Sunbelt found the database by tracing malware-infected computers as they connected to the internet to refresh their list of spam targets. The target list turned out to be the iBill database, hosted on a rogue website.

I have no idea how they are still in 'business' (if one can call it that); however, I guess the many suckers, like us, are waiting and hoping for what is owed.
Okay, when someone is owed something but in order for them to even have a hope in hell of receiving it, they MUST sign an 'altered' agreement or agree to additional demands (but that does not mean they will receive what is theirs), it is called (uh, what is that word I am thinking of) ... OH YAH ... EXTORTION!

Oh this is just fucking wonderful! Even fewer people will be willing to give out personal information to join porn sites. This is just what I needed to hear today. :(

I used ibill to pay for russian submitter back in 2001, guess my info including credit card number was one of those leaked :bomb:
I always keep a close eye on my credit card charges, guess I will have to be extra diligent now.

I cant remember where i read it but a couple of days back i read that iBill are going to sue Wired for writing that article... Like they can afford it LOL

A new AVN Online Article includes a comment from the FBI as well as ibill management.

It all seems to be a non-story at this point. I find it interesting that Secure Science offered its services to ibill before they gave the info to Wired.
