By "Popular Demand"...

Hey everyone...

Since quite a few of you expressed interest over the way I film our movies when I saw you at the Phoenix Forum, I thought I would post the famous storyboards that I always talk about.

When I film a movie, I script it and storyboard it out so that I know which cam shots to use and how to pan the camera. It gives our movies a better cinematic feel rather than the standard "cam-on-a-tripod watching two boys fucking" feel that a lot of movies now-a-days have.

Here are the storyboards for the opening sequence, dialogue and general first three minutes of our new movie, "The Dicks of Hazzard". I am also posting the box cover. Click on an image to see a larger version.

Well that's cool..... reminds me of watching Stephen Spielberg storyboarding Raiders of the Lost Ark in the "Making of...."

Would this someone be...lets say...David & Eddie from D&E..hhhhmmmm!!!

I will say that I'm very impressed and I love the storyboard, this is the true way of making a video/film...I haven't seen that since college...I wish I had the time and the patients to do a storyboard but I guess I'm too lazy :sleep:

I love the boxcover...it looks like a winner!!!! Don't change it....whatever you do!!!!

The only way it will change is if Brent Summers pulls put. he is starting to get a big head and is acting like a primadonna... so we are in aggressive contract negotiations right now. But this is CA... and it's San Diego in the summertime... I can find another blonde surfer boy just like him fairly easy if he pulls out. He just has that southern accent I want for the movie. LOL.

We scored Caleb Carter for the movie, too... he is playing the villain, "Boss Cock." Here's his promotional picture:

I was kinda hoping that the Boss Hogg character would be an older guy... but I still love the idea.

Nice to see we're not the only ones who plan out our shots like that.

The Boss Hogg character isn't going to be older... but the Uncle Jesse character is.

Um.. do you need a bald biker with lots of tattoos for one of the scenes at the Boar's Nest?



Oh, and Tom Wopat was my second love. I used to watch that show religiously just to see him, and I'd have countless sex dreams about him.

Actually... maybe! LOL!

The "WHORE'S NEST" scene has Cooter and 2 mechanics going at it on one of the tables. I haven't cast any of the 3 roles yet...

I am just an artist with a background in amateur film making. Throughout junior high and high school all I did was write scripts and film student projects... I also did cinemetography and special effects for some of my friends projects after I graduated.

One of or my projects is still talked about and shown to students at my old school to this day. It was after I graduated and filmed for my friend, Geoff, for his English class student film project. It was "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight". When Sir Gawain chops the Green KNight's head off at the banquet, I filmed it like this:

Shot one: Sir Gawain raises the blade over The Green Knight's neck and brings it down. Just as the blade connects with the helmet, we cut away.

Shot two: Cut away to the astonished crowd of onlookers and knights gasping

Shot three: A mannequins head rolls off the shoulders of the Green Knight form the same camera angle as Shot one.

Shot Four: The head rolls in fromt of the camera in a blur, leaving a trail of blood behind it.

Shot Five: The headless Green Knight reaches down and grabd his head, the lifts it to his shoudlers

Shot Six: A shot of the crowd, again astonished and gasping.

Shot Seven: The Green Knight (with his real head) twists it back on (as though he is cracking his neck)... creating the illusion of putting his head back on.

So I have been writing, filming and setting up trick shots like this for years. :-)
