I do not have/own any of her 'stuff', but I do love her and her offbeat ways. Her video 'Stupid Girl' (or whatever it's titled) is simply hah-hah.
I truly hope she does not go the way of Bif!
Wow! Amazing. Just bought her CD last week, but haven't had a chance to listen to it. Now I'm glad I did.

I couldn't get the link to work for me, but I have the new CD and I'm actually not a fan of this song. I love Pink as a performer, and "Stupid Girls" is a great song and video, but I find this to be a little precious and overwrought for my tastes. I'm all for taking Bush to task and saying "important things" in your work, but one thing I have a knee-jerk reaction to is heavy-handedness and melodrama. And these lyrics are woefully melodramatic. Like a poem that a 14-year-old would write in her journal when she's feeling saddened by all the sad things in the world. Doesn't make me cry. Makes me groan.
The Dylan camparison was more of a joke. But I can honestly say that I've never been so moved by a protest song before. Keep screaming Pink! You may just help change a few young minds in the process.Quote:

grudgingly... I suppose you have the right to think the way you do. I chose to feel from my heart, you chose to think with your brain. And I agree, the lyrics are a bit heavy-handed. I suppose it's a bit of a curse that I am an entertainment journalist who writes reviews. I honestly have a hard time watching or listenting to anything with anything short of a critical eye (or ear). I immediately form opinions on everything I see because of this. Some of my friends get exasperated, as you can imagine. They all think I'm too opinionated. But if I wasn't, I wouldn't have a job. :)
Then again, I think I've been trained to not accept anything at face value, and analyzing is, to me, the difference between the sheep (followers) and the doers.
God, that sounds snotty! Sorry if it comes off that way. I'm just always in journalist mode. ;)
