Question About Stats

OK, I'm looking in the server stats and I'm noticing that the stats are getting smaller instead of larger. It's not something small, because it's dropping by the 1000's.

When we ask the server company about it, and the server logs disappering they said, it's not their fault, that it's our problem. That if stats are something that we 'might need' that we should find something outside for them to do it.

How can it be our fault when they told us when they signed up with them that they gave acess to the server logs, and built in qualiety stats?

Do this happen a lot? Is this normal for hosting companies to do? Is it my fault that their scripts and things don't work?

Right about there i would have told them where to shove their server to be honest babe.

No it doesnt, or at least shouldnt and no if their stats arent working on a server they are managing for you then its their problem.

I've never had this happen before.

When I read this I thought about one company we host with, we had to get them to delete logs because we ran out of disk space once.

I could understand if YOU put the stats programs on there, but you didn't.

If they aren't willing to resolve it, I'd be talking to another company.

You know your right Gary. I think I'm going to talk to them about switching to the guys that handle my live stuff for me and let them do it...

I'm getting a little sick of ixwebhosting's agervation. This week the email stopped working 8 times for about an hour each time. I can see 1-3 times per week because things happen, but 8 times in 5 days? I mean I was born at night, but it wasn't last night.

Opps, your right also Lee! lol almost left you out for a second there. ;)

I can't speak for other hosting companies, but the only reason I have ever manually deletes my logs was due to disk space, and that only happened a few times in the last 3 years.

Maybe they have something to hide?

Oh, I just though of something, are you running a Plesk control panel? If yes, I know they did have a problem with their logs filling up and stopping at the 2G mark, but there is an easy fix to that problem.
