You know, to some extent, it really is their [local governments] own fault they have all this flooding.
I was just watching a news peice on CNN about some of the towns that have been seriously effected and one of them, the fire marshal turned around on camera and said that some fallen trees were acting like dams on some of the local bridges.
Not tree's that had fallen since the flooding started by the way, tree's that have just been 'left' there for months after they originally fell.. Then they wonder why the water systems arent letting the water out properly, perhaps if these tree's that were blocking the water flow were removed when they fell several months ago, they wouldnt be having as much flooding problems as they have now :eek:
The good news is however, it looks like the weather is going to be changing over the next 48 hours so there is an end now in sight at least :thumbsup:
