Unfortunately, most people aren't so diligent... there are a bunch of adult videos (as well as some mainstream ones) with the same title.
There is an IMDB for porn, can't remember the URL, but as far as I know, it's woefully incomplete as far as gay films, it's mostly a straight database.
What we do is can check Bijou Video, they have among the most complete database as far as gay titles go, and then also check Atkol Video, who also has a lot of back catalog titles, and larger retailers like Movie Mountain will give you a good chance of finding if the title has been used recently. So between those three, if the name hasn't been used, you can be reasonably certain that it's not been used.
