I probably wouldn't be too far out in saying if this law stands, the religious freaks will be out in force trying to pass similar laws elsewhere

I don't think this has anything to do with religion. A lot of homeowner associations across the country have a similar rule. It's to prevent homes from being rented out to a half dozen mostly unrelated people who otherwise wouldn't be in the neighborhood.

It's to keep the pickers out of the neighborhoods of the growers.
