I spent quite a while going through the archives of the group and emailing Rapidshare about them. Rapidshare are really great about taking down pirated files.. jsut email them at webmaster@rapidshare.de with a link to the file and they'll remove it quite quickly.
But you should ALL check here. I've managed to get rid of most of the files, but I can only do so much..
Here's the group..

Join if you can and spend a minute or two helping us stop these fuckers.

If billion dollar music and movie studios can't stop file sharing, how are we?
-
we can't stop it, but we can at least do things like close down the groups or get Rapidshare and megaupload to delete the files.
but if you want, I can just leave the squirt it ones up.

Oh you're such a tease Jasun. Go get them! :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:

Thanks for the heads up, Jasun!
Rapidshare is really good about taking files down as soon as you let them know about em, thankfully.
Yahoo can be fairly good about removing Yahoo groups that are reported for violations (such as having adult content or copyrighted content).

Brian, whenever I see your stuff, I usually just throw it in the list of files that I send with mine.
But it can be like trying to empty out the ocean with a teaspoon.
I've noticed that lots of the groups will shy away from Fratmen videos now.
If I see them shared in a blog or a group, I usually send the offending member a terse email and they stay away from us.

We need a company that specializes in this and gets a fee for every site they take your content off of.
What would be a price you would be willing, as a company, to pay a service for each site they took your stolen content off of?

You da man! Definitely appreciate that. That's the only way any of us will ever be able to put a dent in all of that stuff. I've done the same when filing complaints with Google about blogspot sites - mentioning in the second have of the email that such and such files, though not ours, are pirated as well.
For the most part, you're right. Blog or group operators are more interested in keeping themselves online so will want to stay out of trouble down the line. The Brazilian blog and group operators, on the other hand, just don't seem to care. And unfortunately, Google's policies with Blogspot (essentially making it very easy for someone to violate copyrights, repeatedly, over and over again while making the lawful copyright owners jump through hoops to protect their own content) encourage piracy.
Rapidshare's rapid response to complaints really is the one nice thing amidst it all lol. And I suppose, in a way, it's flattering to have so many people want to rip off your shit. Like, if such and such Fratmen model has a gazillion pirated videos out there, ya know they're popular!

get 2 people to DMCA yahoo about the groups and they'll be dead rather fast. at least that was the case before
and if they don't kill the groups, DMCA them a few times more - 2-3 weeks later and the groups will really be dead
-
you know, I've tried email yahoo about it, but they insist on having pages of legal proof that your copyright has been infringed.. but the groups are just there to post links to the pirated material.. not the pirated material itself.
they won't close down the groups.
Blogspot is worse.
I've sent email to blogspot about blogs that are the specifically to pirate Fratmen material and nothing else, and they want me to report each and every post.
by the time I've jumped through the proper legal hoops, the post has been up for over a week and anyone who wanted the content has already downloaded it.

Why can 2-3 big sponsors get a good lawyer and go through the process with yahoo. If they don't comply in a timely manner, sue their ass for it. This is hurting the industry as a whole. I'm even wondering if the process they make you go through to prove that they are violating copyright is legal. It should be up to them to defend themselves and prove that the content is indeed legal. If this was CP I bet they would go ahead and take it off right away. They should treat copyright infringement in the same way, IMO.
