Ok here's a question

I had a customer asking for more of a certain type of video (certainly not the first time) and it got me thinking, I'm going to give you the question and then my opinion :P

Why is it that "cum eating" videos are considered a fetish in the gay adult industry, but on the straight side it's pretty much expected?

My personal opinion is that the reason it's considered a "fetish" and you don't see a lot of it (nothing compared to the straight side) is because such a large percentage of "gay pornstars" are straight. Straight guys in gay porn generally will receive oral and will top, which appears to be not so gay anymore, but to go further than that would be too gay.

While yes there is certainly a higher risk involved for several things that aren't as risky if someone ejaculates on to your chest, that hardly seems to be an issue on the straight side where there are so many more bareback videos compared to condom use videos that they don't even call them bareback, it's just porn.

So anyway I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on this

To some extent I agree, Although I wouldn't say it just covers gay porn stars.
I think it is still classed as a fetish because there are many out there (gay and str8) that wouldnt eat cum, and also the fact that when you see "cum eating" video's.. its solely focused on cum eating... not the long periods of foreplay, kissing, etc leading up to it.

2. Straight porn has more emphasis on male dominance over women. It's considered degrading to cum in a girl's face or make her eat cum, and guys love treating girls like whores.
3. Straight porn is, duh, about the girls not the guys and their cum. The straight viewer doesn't really want to see the guy cum, he wants to see the GIRL reacting to it. (Watching a guy cum? That's gay!)
4. They frame the cum shot so the girl is the focus, and only show the least amount of the guy's body. If the shot consists of just a disembodied dick and a girl's face, the director says, "Make her eat the cum."

I can see both of your points. I guess when it comes to cum eating videos I can see where the focus is shifted....but it then begs to ask why don't you see it as often as in the straight videos

Again I can understand the HIV and other STD factors could play a huge part, but I can't understand why it's so much higher on the gay side???? Or is it that the straight people honestly believe that they have less risk?

I think the dominance thing is key. Straight porn seems very much about the guy "owning" the girl, while a lot of gay porn seems more about the conquest, and once they are into it, most of the scenes I've seen, both guys are liking it.

BTW, I don't know on the whole, but I know that we and a number of other studios do require current tests (we actually do them once the models arrive, the only way we feel that it's consistent and not a faked test result) even when we are shooting safe content... yet we generally avoid cum eating and other high-risk activities just because we don't want to send that message. For the studios that don't produce bareback, I think it is at least in part a philosophical issue.

I don't think cum eating/swallowing is prominent in straight porn at all. I have a hard time finding sites that actually show you a girl that swallows. At most, they let the guy cum in her mouth, then she spits it out. Almost always, straight porn episodes end with a cum facial. It's rare to see anything else anymore. The routine is oral, vaginal (sometimes anal), end with a facial.

I don't think it's about not wanting to see another guy's cum either. Facials show you the cum big time, and Bukkake has become a big niche. A rep once told me their best converting bukkake site was big dick bukkake, so they like watching a big cock spurt.
