Affiliate Rep Usernames - Use Their Real Name Or A Moniker?

I was just wondering what everyone thought about this, we're getting ready to hire a new member of staff and was wondering whether you folks thought it would be better for him to use his 'real' name on the boards or to choose a 'nickname' and go by that?

I personally like it when reps post using their own name, especially when it comes to things like email addresses, i really hate getting emails from..

assgrabber2007@programname.com

Especially when the email body is signed 'assgrabber2007' :eek:

To me that just looks unprofessional but i was wondering what the rest of you folks thought about this, even though we're in a liberal minded business, do you think it works better for reps when they use a nickname or their real name on the boards, in email, etc?

I vote for Real Name. More professional and easier to remember.

Well I started out using my full real name but made the switch after I started getting frequent bizarre calls at the office from some obscure "affiliate" (and by frequent I mean 6-7 times a day)

As the calls got weirder and weirder I decided that my last name was far too unique, making me extremely easy to look up and removed my last name from everything.

So sometimes, Nicknames are good $0.02

I thought about doing a poll but decided against it as id like to find out a little more information behind the reasoning than a simple 'real' or 'nickname' would give me :)

You know for a while I actually thought it was someone I know fucking with me.

Either (real name or nickname) plus the sponsor program works for me.

Myself I don't care what a person calls himself or her self just so long as they answer e-mails or returns phone calls.

I use my real name (half right) and I like it when others use theirs. On ICQ and a few others programs I just rename the individual to put the program name after the individual. When you negotiate deals I find it more of a connection when you use the persons name.

We use real first names, but the last names are made up...

The Maleflixxx guys and gals all use our real first names, and most of us use real last names too. We also made our email addresses as simple as possible to remember, so we are all first name at sureflix dot com (or maleflixxx dot tv).

Very difficult for gay men to remember my name. "Mary" is just such a foreign word to them...
