"At least could we declare that the Vietnam War is over and have a cease-fire and agree that both candidates -- the president of the United States and Sen. Kerry served honorably -- end of story? Now let's focus our attention on the conflict that's taking place in Iraq, that is taking American lives as I speak on this floor", said JOhn McCain.
OK... Kerry served, Bush hung out in Texas. But he wants us to forget that and say they both served "honorably". Then he wants to go back and redirect our attention to the distraction that is the "war" in the middle east instead of the collapsing economy, balooning unemployment, attacks on free speech and privacy and the poluted environment.
At least we can see where some priorities lay.
