Exclusive Content - Over Rated?

I honestly think that exclusive content is over-rated in the industry, everyone has it these days it would seem so why continue going the exclusive content route?

Sure its good to get specific niche content shot but at what cost?

Is content really exclusive when it features the same cum swallowing models as a site featuring models jacking off?

I mean, exclusive content sounds good, but exclusive models sound better IMHO and i think that is where we're going to be headed shortly as more people begin to realize this $0.02

Hehe well in some niches its more or less a must as non-exclusive content is near to impossible to find in good enough quality or quantaty to make a site..

but yea, would love to not go exclusive.. am in the process of building a few mainstream sites that will rely on feeds only... so will be intersting to see how they do with retention..

Exclusive content can NEVER be overrated. But "exclusive content" that simply looks like the content that everybody else is doing IS overrated.

It's the companies who go out of their way to create content with a singular style and/or personality--or with a particular creativity that hasn't been duplicated ad nauseum by all the other programs--who are really leading the way in this industry.

But to imply that having exclusive content is old news is misleading. It has little to do with exclusive content, but has everything to do with WHO's making that content. ;)

David from Pimproll had same thread few weeks ago on some forum..i said then,and will say now.. i totally agree with u mate,exclusive models is what is exclusive...everything else is over rated,i know this aint gonna bring me bizz,but am honest guy and it is like that...but ... to get exclusive models..it means shit load of money:)

Ah cool, glad im not the only one thinking long-term then :)

Will definately be interesting to see which sponsor goes with exclusive models instead of exclusive content, it sounds like Pimproll are already considering it :)

Which is why the only sites that have exclusive content that last are the ones that also have exclusive modles.

Gotta agree there. Don't see how you can call it 'exclusive' if the model is all over the place. I mean there is only so many ways he can get fucked, or cum.

Exclusive Content to me is something that isn't anywhere else. Models, Stories, Videos, whatever, if someone else has it, it ain't exclusive content. IMHO

All of our sites have models who are mostly exclusive to us. There's a small handful that have appeared on other sites, but in general, it seems that the guys that work with us generally don't want to work anywhere else.

I echo the thoughts of others. Some models are on every site on the planet it seems like, and we hear from our members that it gets really tiresome seeing the same guys on all these different sites (even in different scenes...) unless that model is one that people can't seem to get enough of, like Sammy Case a couple years ago. But in my experience, he's really the exception, and even he got overexposed.

The other thing is that I don't think it serves the model's best interest to work for a bazillion studios. Carefully choosing a few that will meter the content out slowly over time is the best choice both for the model and for the site, in my book.
