Google Optimization

During the day I work at a web development firm. We are currently having a debate on what google emphasizes when determining placement, so I thought I would ask you guys on what you thought.

Incoming Links
Outgoing Links
Recipricol Links
Content (emphasizing search term)
Placement of content on page
Meta Tags

Just curious what you guys think on this and other other tips you might have to boost google ratings. None of the sites I work on for this job are in the adult entertainment industry niche, but optimization is the same regardless of niche.

I understand that Google is constantly tweaking their search term placement algorithm. So the answer to your question changes with every tweak!

Incoming links, content and title meta tag seem to be most important. Content placement is also important. Heading tags h1, h2 are also important.

Linking deserves a big discussion of its own...

The best tip i can give about Google optimization is to keep it as natural as possible, dont go cramming keywords in your pages trying to rank higher for a specific term, keep your links natural and have a generic linking structure throughout, thats worked for me in the past and still does today.

SEO isnt hard to do, you just have to approach it with a little common sense.
