converting wmv to flash

We would like to convert our .wmv to flash. What are the best softwares to accomplish the task and for server streaming?

One thing to consider is the resolution of your .wmv to start with. If it's, say, a 500Kbps Windows Media file you're transcoding to Flash, you'll end up with an inferior Flash file than if you start with a high resolution WMV, Quicktime or AVI file.

Any of the above mentioned programs will do a good job of transcoding. We use Sorenson Squeeze because we usually do multiple formats and bitrates, and Sorenson has some pretty nifty batch processing.

btw, did i mention that mencoder is completely free and it can convert anything to anything?

If you already use macromedia or now adobe studio, flash pro comes with a video converter which is separate from flash. All you have to do is select all the videos you want converted, click start and come back when it is finished.
