I was using them for a while, without much luck. Finally I decided in the end that the money that I was using on adwords, could better be spent on getting higher rankings, and SEO. Why don't more companies try this?

I dropped my Adwords program too, a few months back. Worked great for a while, but got old with the surfers and stopped making a profit.
I don't think I have any sponsor sites that would work easily on Adwords right now.
i used google adword quit a bit for some teen sites that are not exposed a lot
i do
the traffic for me trickles down slowly
since i haven't done major tweaks like landing pages
but conversions are pretty good and so far I have between 50% and 200% ROI
