So I read somewhere that if you make a post on Wordpress and schedule it to post at a later date it would still ping whichever servers you have in your ping list.
Make a few of those and you get banned which almost happened to me - 15 posts in less than an hour and a half!
There is a plugin called Post Schedule Ping Optimizer that's free for now I guess - http://www.problogtools.com/ has it, although it runs with cron which at least for me is not always working 100%
Are you sure your host added the cron in correctly ... it needs a bit more before that code it shows you on the config page in your admin panel. Maybe Luke can stop by and post the right string, as I can't find it right off.
they have but i still have issues with some scripts for reasons unknown
but i rarely use it so it doesn't bother me :)
Actually, you use it every time you post. It's the more advanced version of Smart pinger, so you don't get banned when you have to edit something, as it only pings once, when the post goes live.
