Use several backorder services for the same domain name, pool, snapnames, godaddy, etc
Chances are that 1 of them will grab it as long as nobody else got in line before you :)

I have used enom's drop service with good results. IF it were a Net Sol domain you would want to use snapnames.
Tucows is somewhat of a bitch for an average webmaster to work with as they cater mostly to wholesalers.
I would try and use snapnames.com, pool.com, and enom.com. Each does it a little differently.
Basically what's going to happen when the drop hits these three servers will pound Verisign and one will get it then you goto the next step. Each handles the next step differently.
I have never wanted a domain name bad enough that I have used all three. Enom has been good to me. However if you really want it then i would od all three. If it was a Netsol domain, then snapnames would prolly catch it for you.

The fact that it is at Sedo and not parked at the registar is interesting. Registars have amended their agreements so that when a name expires they can reposses it and sell it themsleves. Maybe Tucows is trying to get a value on the domain by parking a Sedo.
You really need to be careful as some Registars cut that initial 40 day grace period down and reposses the domain themselves. It's against ICANN guidelines, but it happens.
My guess - the domain name will hit the auction block.
