Straight porn HIV cases ??
OK So I get tested for HIV regularly. But I've been told and have long believed that testing procedures aren't perfect and that there's a window of time following exposure and infection of about 3-6 months that an individual can be infected without that showing up on their HIV test. Right?
So these straight porn stars are tested every few weeks and certified as "safe" so long as their most recent test is negative.
But... if they're exposed and infected and their latest test came within that window, then they could not only be infected but pass on HIV to someone else despite having a "Negative" test to show.
... right? So doesn't that mean that the entire testing system straight porn operates with is completely medically unsound? As in the certifications of "safe and HIV-" really can't be anything more than estimations? That you could have who knows how many people HIV+ and making movie after movie with countless other models, all the while being HIV+ but just within that window of time where tests are not yet able to detect it...
If that first guy was HIV+ and they assume he got it from a shoot in Brasil a week or 2 before the test... why couldn't he have conceivably gotten it anywhere from a week or 6 months before his test? And thus you'd have to quarantine everyone he'd been with in the half year leading up to his positive test result... and everyone they'd been with...
Or do they use some kinda fancy shmancy super duper testing technique that gives immediate results?
