Does this mean I dont have to take my Xmas decorations down from last year???
;-)
Well Im sure that consumers are already starting feel christmas shopping pressure from seeing things out. Retailers and buyers are aware of what they are doing.. This is the most stressful time of the year is christmas other than tax season according to something I was reading in forbes magazine. :king:
I start shopping in august and usually done by thanksgiving, so no rush at the end.
Wow, that must take some discipline. :whip:
:santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa: :santa:
OR....you could do it the way my family did growing up...
And celebrate the exchange of gifts on Twelfth Night.

I suspect it had more to do with the after Christmas sales than anything....but Santa would come and do the stockings on Christmas Eve and leave a few presents under the tree...but on Twelfth Night we would do the large family gifts.
I used to wait until January 3 or 4th to go shopping. No crowds, great deals.
Gotta love it. :santa:
My dad used to explain it to me that Jesus was born on Christmas, and it took 12 days for the wise men to ride their cammels from where they were when they saw the star to the manger...and that you exchange gifts on the night of January 5th (Twelfth Night) as a way to honor the wise men giving gifts to the baby jesus.
But nowadays, I prefer the Zodiac pagan explanation.
They coulnd't let pass holloween before putiing Xmas crap! it seems that every years to put xmas styuff a few week earlier. Soon Xmas stuff will be in store year around.
I was shocked to find Halloween stuff out already. I mean halloween isn't until the END of NEXT month
but CHRISTMAS stuff? That's just ridiculous
