Who Would You Die For?

I was asked this last night at the bar totally out of the blue and i kinda shocked myself at the answer i gave.

My sister, our neices, mom, dad and gary.

My elder sister wasnt on the list, nor several other people i would have mentioned if i had thought about the answer.

So who would you die for if you had to in order for that person to live?

Not to sound like a self professed messiah or some shit but I would, could, die for anyone. The fear of death and needing to provide for someone are main reasons of limiting your answer but if things are in place and the situation comes to play... I guess I'm just at piece with the issue of death and although I don't seek it out, find no reason I should live over someone else.

But then you get into the whole "Who should I kill so you can live"

If you were in a bank, would you know the right choice for your very random situation? It's a total coin toss but it's also a real world situation.

It's a situation of putting yourself above someone else and to me, although it's survival of the fittest, is a judgment I can only make for myself. I cannot assume the responsibility of picking someone to die for me.

At the moment - nobody.

Right so if you would die for someone, who do you currently live for?

The question is not one of debate. There is no right or wrong answer. It’s a personal choice. It’s one that is set up to help you understand where you are within the world and within your life. It’s an understanding of mortality. All things come to an end. The question simply asks if you are willing to rank people on a scale of more or less valuable than yourself.

Everything is up for debate and everthing in this world changes, nothing remains the same over time.

The answer to this question is one of personal choice therefore isn't it up to the reader to choose which answer is right or wrong?

I think I'd fight like a junk yard dog, to save my Son or Roy. However, I'm pretty sure, Roy would beat me to the punch.
