Genarlow Wilson FINALLY Released!

Wilson was a great athlete and good student. He was also horny, and was videotaped eating out a 15 year old girl at a party. He was 17 at the time.

He was convicted of aggravated child molestation -- even though he was a child himself at the time!! The Georgia Legislature actually CHANGED THE LAW after he was convicted but the prosecutor wanted to keep this poor kid in prison for 10 years without parole, even though the Legislature changed the law so that he would be subject, at most, to a year in jail and no sex offender registry. The judge in the case ruled that this kid should get out and applied the new law. Even though the kid had already spent two years in prison, the prosecutor appealed to keep him in jail and today the Georgia Supreme Court ordered this kid released.

The kid is black and the prosecutor is white. I honestly think that had something to do with it.

Some things never change in the south.

First you need to know the correct facts. Yes, he was convicted of child molestation and yes at the time the sentence was a maditory 10 years without parole. He got what the law read. The law was not changed right after his conviction. He was not eating a pussy he was getting a bj. Yes the DA is white but it had nothing to do with color it had to do with the rule of law. He was also given a plea deal prior to trial and he would not have faced the 10 years. You also need to understand the age of consent in Ga is 16, she was 15. He made a bad discision and is paying the price. The question is why was he dating, yes she was his gf, a girl almost 3 years younger than him?

Yes, those seniors in high school dating sophomores in high school are SUCH dangerous criminals they should be put behind bars until they are almost 30! Luckily the 15 year old girl was not white or Wilson would have to go away for life!



A 17 year old having sex with a 15 year old should not be a crime. Even if it technically is a crime, prosecutors have discretion in charging, and Wilson should never have been charged the way he was. If this had happened in my jurisdiction when I was prosecuting, I would not have brought charges. **





**In Iowa, a 15 year can legally have sex with a 17 year old. There is a 6 year Romeo and Juliet exception, which the Georgia Legislature has not seen fit to follow. Regardless, I think more harm came from charging the crime than if the prosecutor had chosen some sort of diversion method to deal with the behavior.

it certainly is no surprise that a 17 year old would date a 15 year old - high school kids are peers. the law should recognize this.

I have read in the paper he could have been charged with rape, as the girl reported she was semi-comatose when he had intercourse with her after the bj. My understanding of the molestation and rape laws he got charged with the lesser of the two. Once again he was offered a plea deal where he would not have served but the 2 years but still would have had to register. From reports I have read the mother is the one who pressed the issue of prosecution. She provided all the boys names and made sure the tape was provided to the DA. She than found out the amount of time he would get, during the trial, and she tried to get all charges dropped. According to what has been reported in the paper and the local TV news she could have been charge with neglect.

You make the statement if she would have been white he would have gotten life. I expect more from a lawyer but there was a case in Ga where the girl was white and under age the promising black superstar took the plea deal of 2 years.

I never said the sentence was fair, I just pointed out that you don't know the facts and are ranting.

The trial judge knows all the facts of the case, even those that are not disclosed to the jury.

The appellate court [and in this case it is the Georgia Supreme Court] knows all the facts that are contained in the record.

Both have access to more facts than the public, and access to more facts than are presented in the press.

The trial judge and the Georgia Supreme Court both believed that Wilson should go free. That is good enough for me.

Cnn.com describes him before going to jail as a Football star and honor student, as well as being nominated for homecoming king.

LOL if dating and having sex, oral or otherwise, with a 15 year old while being 17 years old is a crime, a hella lot of people should be doing time...

Now had he been 21 then they might have had a case but 15 and a 17 year old , give me a break.. especially with the whole "girls are more mature" than guys ...

The fist judge in the same county reduced the charge and sentence to what the current law states, he was over turned. The trial judge did not state nor did the Ga Supremes say he should be let go. The Ga Supremes said the sentence was cruel and unusual punishment.

Like I stated he’s lucky the DA didn’t go for the max, include rape, he would have gotten more time. The judge that sentenced him is known to give the max sentence available by state law.

While you are quite involved in posting "facts" of the case, you've never addressed whether or not you REALLY believe that someone who was 2 years older and having sex should have received such a harsh judgement like the one he got.

Do YOU think he got what he deserved, sentence wise?

The sentence was a bit overboard, but I do understand how it was given and why.

If it walks like a Duck Quakes Like a Oh hell we KNOW the routine,,,

It was RACE simple as that it always is in America we just dont want to admit it!

This simply would not happen if the BOY was white and the girl Black.

The DA wanted the uppity Black boy, somethings never change down Georgia way. Oh it was a Blow Job saints preserve us surprised he did'nt charge Rape!

I am now in the south, in the USA and I can say things have changed, where I am.

No Southern California gang bullshit between blacks and everyone else.
