Non Recurring Members On Join Pages...

I was wondering, those of you currently using non-recurring memberships on your paysites, where do you list this membership option on the join form?

Do you place it as the frist item in the list of join options or the last?

For example, will it work better like this...

Non Recurring
Monthly Recurring
Three Month Recurring

Or like this...

Monthly Recurring
Three Month Recurring
Non Recurring

What do you folks currently do with non recurring memberships when it comes to what order they are listed on your join forms?

In my opinion, I would suggest putting the recurring options FIRST in order to increase the number of rebills over one shot customers. These days it's hard enough to get the customer to pull out their wallet initially, they are even less likely to pull it out again next month and go through the whole sign up process again.

in my opinion, it depends on how well the site rebills and what your non-recurring option is. a site that doesn't rebill well might make more money off a one month non-recurring option if it's $10 or $12 more than the regular monthly price.

I think customers are smart and are going to pick the $ amount that they want regardless of where it is in your join form.

Since our onthehunt site is pretty new we have been experimenting with our join options. We started off with $24.95 30 day recurring, $29.95 30 day non-recurring, and $59.95 90 day non-recurring.

We got lots of $29.95 non-recurring joins so in an effort to increase the sales of the $24.95 recurring we raised the non-recurring to $34.95. It helped a lot but interestingly enough it triped our sales of the $59.95 membership so you gotta experiment a little to see what works best for your site
