Allow me to Re-introduce Myself!

I wanted to just make this post to say Hi or Hi again to some of you. I used to be a regular here before, under a different name. I only recently came back to GWW after not being around for awhile. I finally thought it was time and I wanted to re-introduce myself as some of you might actually remember me from my former job.

I used to post on this site as "Goldie" and at the time I worked for XonDemand as their gay content guy. I never really did have an official title so I just made one up. Anyway, in December of 2006 after 2-1/2 years of working there (with no raise), I was laid off with a few others. They downsized from two locations in Philadelphia and North Carolina to just the NC location. By the way, I was told the news via an e-mail from my boss at 4PM on a Friday the week before Christmas, real classy.

Fast forward a few months and I got a job at 1800GAYLIVE and I've been there about 1-1/2 years now. I am the Operations Coordinator which means I do a lot of projects and serve as the link between our customers and our marketing and technical staff. We are not primarily an internet based company as we are mainly on the phones, but do have a website and are trying to grow that side of the business. One of my newest jobs is to get that rolling. So that is why I started posting here a bit more again.

But when I came back, I wanted a fresh identity since I no longer have (or want) anything to do with XonD.... I don't even want to type their name a 2nd time after how they treated me. But after attending the Gay Erotic Expo in New York City last weekend, I met up with a few folks like Jake Cruise, Harlan, Karl, and others again as well as meeting Jasun for the first time. So I wanted to just say Hi again in case you remember me as Goldie from before. I know I met Lee and some others when I was in Vegas at AVN in 2005 but that seems like a long time ago now! I also ran the blog Goldie's Gay Galaxy which I had linked up to many folk's sites from this board. That blog was really fun to do and I do miss it. I never even got to make a farewell post as they blocked my access to it right before they laid me off.

Anyway, I just wanted to say Hi again or Hello for the first time!

I can't believe it's been a couple of years since all that crap happened.

Hey James, nice to hear from you again and thanks for the well wishes.

Yup, it's almost 2 years now. Time has flown by. I am glad HotMovies is still doing well too, I see them everywhere I look! If only I lived a little closer and commuting wasn't such a pain, things might have ended up differently. But everything happens for a reason and I'm not upset where life has taken me currently!

It's amazing how lifes detours can affect us, and how long they can take to recover from.

Wow, I can hardly believe it has been 2 years either, but then I lost a year or better after my heart attack so everything is "off" timewise for me. Good to have you back.

Time sure does fly when you're having fun -- or not having fun, as the case may be. Every time I think "It's already been FOUR since since the last election?" I freak out. I mean, at this rate, I'm gonna be 80 looking back at my life on my deathbed before I know it. So scary.

At any rate, welcome back, Marc. I haven't been around a lot myself, as I've been less involved in the Internet side of things and more involved with print. But now that we are expanding into the online market, I'll be back on here a lot more often. It's good to see some of the same old peeps. :)
