I am designing right now my first DVD cover. And I was wondering, what makes poeple buy a DVD in store? Simple right? But I got many different vibes from different poeple. Some like really graphic covers, with sperm, dicks, fucking. Some other prefer to see the guy standing half naked or fully naked. So. What is for you the ideal DVD cover that targets most your attention?
What gets my attention is faces...I think that people are very attracted to faces first and then to bodies so I always look for a face that turns me on and makes we want to see the body.
I think the cover marketing varies depending on the subject of the dvd however, so that is important in determining what the cover should feature. For example, if the theme of the dvd is oral cum shots then you should show that action. Having said that...I still feel that faces should be featured to get attention first.
Also, bold colors grab peoples attention, using colors that are deep and bold are going to make your cover stand out from others.
