Back when i was a newbie Gary was doing a webinar chat for Maxcash and he explained it to us all as 'Teenage White Into No Kink'.

yup, twink was from twinkie, and the best place to find them for rent in hollywood back in the early 70's was on las palmas just below hollywood blvd and the gold cup...
I don't remember hearing the term until sometime in the early 80's maybe. I have no idea when or where I first heard it, but I immediately knew what it meant!
If this started up in the early 70's then I was just 18/19 and still very closeted! Thanks for all the replies, this proved to be a very interesting question!
To think I was 21 years of age in 1970 and I didn't even know I was a twink. Thankfully the youth of today are better informed.
I remember using the term twinkie for skinny Nellie dudes in the late '70s (and I was only 25!)
