What About Taking Payments By Mail?

Has anyone ever tried this method of getting subscriptions to your sites?

It would seem like it could be something additional to offer surfers who may be maxed out on their credit cards, sending cash, bankers draft or checks through the mail and once the funds clear, actually create a username/password for them.

Do you think this could work given the current state of the economy and how many people are maxing out their credit cards to pay essential bills like their electricty, internet, phone, etc?

we've had a handful now and then who have opted for that option, but no more than maybe 10 in 6 years.

We don't actively list it as a join option, perhaps we should. :)

We accept them but it has never been due to the economy. It is a way that members totally hide their tracks from partners, spouses etc.

We have two in particular that send in a money orders from places like 7-11 and never miss a month.

We offer this. However, it is not something that does well. In the past 2 years we've received 2 mail in orders.
And once we received one call-in subscription where the customer called in because they didn't want to input their credit card info online.
I wouldn't put your focus on it though.

i dont think i would choose to do that to pay for a porn site membership
