How Do You Define A 'Website'?

When it comes to how many 'websites' you actually own?

Ive been brosing through a few threads that Brandon has been taking part in on some mainstream boards and it seems most people in non-adult (at least on this one board) even those that have been working online for several years only actually have one or two 'websites' and that just blows my mind.

That got me wondering, perhaps they are actually just considering the site on the root domain names themselves as their websites and not any sites in sub folders/domains.

So how would you define a 'website' and, how many would you say you had based on your definition?

For me i would define a site as any part of a domain name that is unique in and of itself with its own entrance (index) page, using that as the basis for my counting, i would guesstimate right now that as a company we own close to 5000+ websites (not including TGP galleries).

So what about you folks, how do you define a website and, using your definition, how many websites do you own presently?
