Gay Directory Layout Question...

I was curious to find out what you folks the best type of 'layout' was when it comes to gay adult directories, over the next few weeks im going to be working on some traffic sites, TGPs, Link Lists, Directories, Review Sites, etc, etc and im actually finding it hard to come up with layouts that are not only different, but the actually draw the surfers attention to certain areas of a site.

Do you think when it comes to adult directories specifically, surfers are useds to parent directories or would a simpler navigation structure work better do you think?

For example, should i have a setup like this...

Twinks
Twinks > Ebony Twinks
Twinks > Asian Twinks
Twinks > Latino Twinks

Or Do you think it would be better to have something more traditional like...

Twinks / Teens
Ebony / Black
Asian / Oriental
Latino / Hispanic
Mature / Older

Just having sub niches listed as the 'general' niche type?

Your thoughts please?

look at how gay demon and gay porn engine do it i think that they both have different ways that work so maybe try them both?
