Generic Domain Names And Niche Markets...

When it comes to any 'generic' domain names that you own, for example something like hotgayporn.com when you start to build/develop this domain name, are you more likely to develop it based on niches that you already understand the market of or, are you more likely to build it using a mixture of different niches and trying to test them out?

Do you think one method works better than another when it comes to developing generic domain names in the adult industry?
