Launch a new affiliate program is?

I know typically new programs tend to launch around the same time as the major tradeshows but, im wondering if this is actually the right way to launch a new program when it comes to timing?

Part of me (a very small part) wants to hold off launching one of the programs we're working on until next Summer, to see if launching a program with fresh sites and content during the 'Summer Slowdown' would attract more affiliates sending traffic than a program launched any other time of the year or, during a show.

I know we launched Stud Money at the Florida show which had some pretty good results, but then, we launched Condom Cash in November and the initial response to that by affiliates was MUCH greater than with Stud Money.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this, especially what you would think the best time of the year to launch a new program would be?
