Its That Time Of Year Again - Where Are We Headed As An Industry?

I usually post one of these threads towards the end of the year asking where everyone thought the adult industry is heading in the year to come so, here is this years thread :)

What do you see the state of the adult industry being in terms of new technology, site advances and trends in 2010?

In last years thread, we talked about globalization of international businesses and how we expected sales to decline across the board, it looks like certainly one of those things happened on a large scale.

So, where do you see the adult industry heading in 2010 and what predicitions do you have in respect of site or technology growth for the industry overall in the year to come?

I think more and more tube sites are going to come out. I think that online piracy is going to continue to rise. And more and more content thieves are going to come out of the woodwork. Just my opinion.
I have seen studios shut down like flies, new studios come in and shut down shortly after or no longer produce.
It's very hard to predict.
I think everyone is scurrying right now for the next hot thing in their business.
I foresee a lot of great things coming, but I also foresee piracy continuing to rise causing hardships for a lot of people. So I don't know. It's rather hard to predict right now Lee.
I am seeing a lot of old school magazines becoming the new "online fad" so to say.

Our industry is so cannibalistic lately that I see things continuing the same for the next year or so, then things will gradually get better.

I think pay site members areas will be more interactive so as to offer more then just a video download the user can get from any torrent.

The situation is going to get even worse for affiliates if they continue in the direction they're headed.

In the end things will adjust and the strong will survive. Sex sells

Same here, early next year we'll finally be ready to launch Cell Profits along with Evil Earnings and we're still beta testing a shit ton of mobile sites for each and every one of the Condom Cash websites.

Next year i really think mobile is going to become a much larger portion of the adult industry than it already is and im hoping that micro billing will finally take off after all these years LOL

One thing I forgot to mention is mac users, I am seeing more and more mac users come out. 1/3 of our memberships are mac users. You can tell because their email address is name@mac.com.

What exactly do you mean? What is that direction?

As an affiliate I always try to abide by sponsor's rules and I always consult with them if I intend to do something I'm not sure is ok with them.

You can sell only things that are scarce. They have market value. (Market value is not to be confused with the real value or usefulness. E.g. Water is the most useful substance on Eearth, but you it's not usually sold because there's so much of it everywhere. Things that are everywhere can't be sold cause they are in abundance.)

What broadband and piracy are now doing to porn is actually turning it to something that's present everywhere on the net. Porn is going to become so abundant that it's going to be hard to sell it.

Although, perhaps people will still pay only to see real amateur and fetish stuff.
