If so, which ones?
We're considering inviting a few friends over next week for a movie night (and drinnks of course lol) but honestly dont know what good movies are out right now, a lot of people have been raving about Avatar but all 3 of us found the movie boring and slow with no 'real' storyline to it.
So, any movies that you could reccomend, either in theatres or on DVD that we should check out?

Avatar in a 3D movie theatre!
I saw Avitar last week at a 3D I-Max and really like it. Sherlock Holmes was also a movie I liked and plan to get on DVD when it comes out.
Not sure what else is out at the theaters but on DVD here is a short list of movies I've liked over the past few weeks:
The Hangover
Inglourious Bastards
Terminator Salvation
Night At The Museum part 2
Star Trek
The problem with movies is that good vs bad is so subjective. There are movies I absolutely love and watch over and over that my friends hate and the other way around as well.
I've recently gotten back into theatre's ( their screen is still bigger than mine! :) ) and saw "daybreakers" , it was okay , better than I thought it would be ( will be added to the bluray collection when it comes out! :) )

I watched Orphan the other night and loved it. It has an interesting plot twist.

We're getting ready to watch 2012 in a hour through Comcast on demand. I'm stoked! Haven't seen it yet but have been wanting to.
We bought 2012 on BluRay and loved it!
The images on our new LCD and sound on the 7.2 surround was amazing.
We hate paying the BluRay price but love the BluRay quality.
Daybreakers and 2012 were good movies, we all enjoyed them.
Also went to see Green Zone a week or two back and that was pretty good also.
Still havent seen Alice yet though.

I know you said movies, but we got a bit tired of disappointing movies that we decided to try to get into some tv series recommended by others. We don't watch much tv and don't have premium channels, so we wait til they come out on dvd or d/l from xbox. If interested, a few we liked or loved are:
Showtime: Nurse Jackie, Dexter
CBS: How I Met Your Mother
BBC: Being Human
There are a couple more but my coffee hasn't kicked my brain into action yet :)
