Best choice to name a new URL?

I just bought two variations of a really good site name and I wonder which is stronger, the one with dashes and .com or without dashes and .org.

Which is better for branding?

name-of-site.com
nameofsite.org

can you brand it strongly with the .org version? Dashes tend to confuse people, but are OK for traffic sites.

Yes, I believe I can brand it strongly with .org. I agree that dashes confuse people, that's why I am asking.

My real question is does Google prefer one over the other for type-in traffic?

yeah good question....I don't believe there is any google preference given to dashes, but I really don't know for sure. Anyone else know?

If it is the domin for a "main" site and not just for a traffic site I suggest you to find a good .com domain without dashes. Type-ins are really important and a good branding can help you a lot.
