After talking to several people interested in modeling for us I am begining to wonder if trying to get them to sign a contract for exclusivity is worth it. Many of them don't want to sign as they want to either work for other sites/studios at the same time, it they are working on sites of their own that they will be the star of. What are your opinions of making them sign a contract that states they will only model for us for a set period of time?
It isn't worth the cost upfront, or later to enforce.
As long as you get the model first, you have the fresh face and the fresh face sales.
As he becomes more exposed on other sites, it is the other sites that will suffer from his over-exposure. You have already gone to the bank with the cash that a fresh face will earn.
If you sign him as an exclusive, the more you use him, the less he will earn for you over time.
It really is all about the 'first time". No matter what he looks like, what you will earn depends on the consumers' taste, not on what you pay the model.
