hey peeps, for those of you that have members in which you track info like emails, addresses, etc., what kind of program do you use to manipulate your data? stuff like count how many members are in a specific zip code, etc?

You can do all that and much more in NATS...
I keep all customer info, as it comes in from CCBill and DHDMedia, in my own SQL table.
Then I write non-compilcated PHP scripts to create e-mail lists, or date history of new customers.
I also wrote, with professional help, a not-so-simple script that shows my customer addresses on a Google Map, complete with panoramic street view (the images photographed by the Google car).
Useful when selling tangible goods.
will NATS or CCBILL work if i am not charging my members a fee right now?
No, But you can create an e-mail DB using www.mailchimp.com (one of several free).
I put a signup box on (most of) my sites' pages.
