Porn DVDs: How do you promote?

I know this is a webmaster board, but there are still a lot of us putting out our content on DVD.
I've done three DVDs to date with Pornteam. (Yay!) They're also on AEBN.
My newest one, Real Guys Exposed: Show & Tell 2 has some name pron stars like Colby Keller and Conner Habib.

My question is: How do I get the word out about these discs? Chris from Pornteam does a great job doing an email blast, but after that its just a matter of crossing my fingers. I know that's a bad idea.

So what more can I do to promote my DVDs past and present. Do my affiliates want to know? Would some kind of press release work? Has anyone rose had some success with a clever way to sell some discs? What do you do that works?

I blog and such, and hope people find me.

No Distributor on here or GD will help me. I deal direct with my customers, or with 2 on-line sales portals directly - no middlemen.

But, I'm happy that as a one-man shop, I can do that much. I've had 2-3 "Distributors" be rude to my face about my niche products, but that tells me that they are out of touch with customers. I only march to the beat of my customers.

All of my DVDs are DVD-R on demand... I don't invest a dime in inventory of Replicated DVDs. I think some distributors make a killing selling inventory of discs to their studio clients, more than they do to stores or consumers.

That just isn't right. If you need 20 DVDs to mail out, burn and print 20 yourself - not 100. You don't make a "profit" until the last piece of inventory is out the door. With DVD-R, you only have "1" in inventory.

My customers don't care for the extra packaging of the clamshell case and printed insert, so I also sell discs in sleeves. Less waste and a lot less cost. If they really want the artwork, that can be downloaded from my webpage(s). They often get the wrong disc in the wrong case, or the disc just sits out in the open anyway.

Sometimes, a DVD-R that is played too many times, or manhandled, will fail. Offering customers a replacement disc option, often will get you a new order as well.

Nick, You have such a unique and innovative business model. I really admire that. I've bought some of your DVDs and books from Amazon and enjoyed the content. It's amazing how you do things in your own way and you make a good living from it. You really have a vision for your work and your sales. I find that inspiring!
