Coming Soon: Wireless TVs
LG has announced that it will be launching the world’s first native Wireless Display (WiDi) televisions. WiDi, also known as wireless HDMI, can stream HD videos at up to 4Gbps. LG partnered with Intel to create the first 3D versions of its WiDi TVs, which are scheduled for shipping sometime next year.
WiDi is already available to consumers via a special adapter that costs about $100, but you can expect prices to drop dramatically once LG and other manufacturers start to embed this technology.
