Digital Media Conference Adds "State of the Industry: The War on Porn"

"David Cameron wants to block access to porn unless people opt in, but is it possible to filter only the things you want?" asks Don Parret, XBIZ?s executive editorial director. Jackman, one of the panelists, told XBIZ that the industry needs to galvanize efforts to put a stop to such regulation.

I attended the XBiz show in London in Sept 2012.

It was a nice friendly show. I didn't see anyone from here. I saw one or two in the bar from another forum.

Two years ago I met a lot from here at European Summit, Prague. But now, those seem to have disappeared from both.

Hopefully David Cameron will have as little luck with his war on porn as he has had with his desire to bomb Syria :)

The way to torpedo David Camerons little scheme is to play up the ISP filtering company the UK wants to require UK ISP's to use owned and maintained by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. which has close ownership ties to the Chinese leadership and is THEIR leading censorship authority.

This linkage in the UK public's mind has already put Cameron's "filtering" plan in hot water.

What UK politician in his right mind wants to bring Chinese censorship to the UK?

Oh David Cameron that's who. Well he lost the vote on Syria a second loss in Parliament (and his is a shaky coalition) results in an immediate fall of his government and new elections.
