Son skirts law in apt. scam
Cross-dresser Michael Jones allegedly starred in an only-in-New York scam straight out of "Big Momma's House."
But Jones is no Martin Lawrence and the bearded transvestite's scheme to hold onto a $170-a-month Brooklyn public housing apartment by posing as his mother backfired when authorities discovered the woman died four years earlier.
"If you need a place to stay, you have to do what you have to do," said a friend of Jones' at the Glenwood Houses in East New York. "He's a nice person. He dresses as a woman."
Jones, 38, was evicted from the three-room flat a few months ago, when Department of Investigations and Housing Authority officials uncovered the scheme.
