How Often To Update?

Inside a paysites members area?

Have you folks noticed any significance on retention when it comes to how often a members area updates?

We currently have several options on the CMS we are developing and beta testing on the Stud Money site which are as follows..

1) Daily / weekly / monthly updates.
2) Algorythm based updates - Takes X amount of content sets and updates X amount of those sets across perid of time we define.
3) Instant updates - Whenever we add new sets to the CMS it updates all of the sites istantly.
4) Timed updates - At specific dates it will update the members area content.

So have you noticed one particular update method has retained better for you than another?

We update 1 time per week.

If we do not update at least 1 time per week, we get emails wanting to know why we have not done it and where are the new guys.

We likewise update weekly, on Thursday. If we don’t, it’s not so much that we get emails, but our new sign ups suck and I suspect we lose recurring members.

So, we update every Thursday. Come hell or high water. If my right leg were cut off, we’d update. If a comet hit Tahiti, we’d update. If there were an EMP from aliens that wiped out all electronics on the planet, we’ll still update.

That’s what our customers demand!
