Im Loving SP2
Well its been a little over 2 weeks now i beleive since i installed Service Pack 2 and i gotta say, i havent had any problems at all.
Im loving their pop-up blocker thingy too i can go to all those CJ sites now and find out who is using our content in a manner that they shouldnt be and not have to worry about being caught in a pop-up hell as i click links
Anyone else here happy with SP2?

I'm afraid to download it... my computers barely function as they are!

both the popup blocker and the script blocker RULE!!! I have had no issues with it since installing it and as I have said before highly recommend everyone get it installed asap.

I've installed SP2 without any trouble.
Though, I guess I can't really take advantage of some of those features since I don't use IE.

Porn Dictionary?
I feel as if I'm learning a new language, reading this forum. Can I please ask what is SP2 (and do I need a prescription for it seeing that it makes everybody feel so good ...)
And CJ sites?
Tks

SP2 = service pack 2 from Microsoft which is an upgrade to the operating system XP by MS.
CJ = generally refers to a circle jerk type of site where the surfer is passed from one site to another within a group of sites either from the same webmaster or associated ones... but it can have other meanings too..

I agree to a degree about the new script blocking in SP2; Usually it's been a real good thing.
It's annoying when I preview a webpage from my folders on the desktop; especially when there's no scripts running. Not sure what's up with that.
It's also annoying when I try to download files. Yes of course I want to download the file that's why I clicked on the link -- a couple of extra steps later... :)
On the whole though; yes, I'm glad I've upgraded.

Well I finally upgraded to SP2 last night and so far haven't had any complaints. Haven't really noticed much of a difference on pop ups as I already had the google bar enabled and a few others. Plus i use firefox for most of my surfing..
So for me haven't noticed much but at least I didn't get the blue screen of death.

I got new machines this week and have been reinstalling, a nightmare.
Now using XP and it came with SP2 and so far, so good -- only one minor crash so far and that was in Firefox, which I'm still not sure I like.

Robin, I think that has to do with your offline html page trying to pull something direct from an online site, like a graphic. I believe the point to that was to stop spam html based mail from automatically pulling email-specific graphics and thus "auto verifying" that you opened their mail.

Good point Luke. I knew that images were being blocked in e-mail; I just hadn't thought of it being the same reason for web pages. Not sure why I thought that; probably because in email they refer to blocking images but in regular pages they refer to blocking scripts.
No biggie though -- as they're my own pages that I'm looking at offline, I just turn off the blocking bar gizmo.

I had problems with SP2 in the beginning, but it's fine now. Though I have the SP2 firewall and my router firewall installed and virus protection ( which slows my system) spyware somehow got installed on my new system. All this shit going and still not protected

I'm having problems with SP2 and my mouse. Click the button once and it clicks things 2-4 times. (I use a pen mouse.)
Other then that, it's cool.

Windows XP SP2 works great...only drawback for me it takes much longer (sometimes) to open files on my other network computer.
