anyone have this problem?
recently ive had the weirdest problem with my internet.
when i try & go to a url in my browser, or ftp into a site, it times out as if i am not connected or there is a dns problem. upon a second attempt, it connects just fine and speeds are great.
the cable company thinks im nuts.
a friend using her laptop in the house on the same wireless network doesnt have this problem, so i am assuming its something on my computer. however, i havent changed anything & this just started happening one day...
anyone have any ideas?

Sure, I'm always full of ideas, among other things...
OSX has had problems with issues related to DHCP, and since you're on a home lan I assume that's how you have your router set up (it's the default setup for most home routers)? Try switching from a DHCP setup on the inside to static IP addressing with NAT. Bet the problem goes away....
