I am reading these goddamn ignoramus threads on other boards about the "gay" party schedule at Internext.

Are you guys generally immune to this redneck homophobia, or does it get your goat as much as it does mine?

I KNOW most of the posters are merely board warriors who would be lucky to ever make it to a show, and others simply do it for the drama and shit, but the whole precept just pisses me to tears.

More importantly, does this sense of concern mean I am more gay today than I was yesterday?

Ive been watching those threads to Lindsay and i gotta say, apart from a select few people who quite frankly i expected to give the responses they did, most of the feedback has been positive :)

They just have a HUGE amount of drag queens. The Australian Gay culture is very different from ours in the U.S. I was surprised at how different when I arrived here in Melbourne, then came up here to the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

They've had no Stonewall here, Harvey Milk, etc. I think that has something to do with their attitudes here towards equality. Great people, but definately not where they could be if the Gay culture here had a different focus.

South Texas is a drag mecca, the capitol of which is San Antonio. I think this is due to a combination of US and Mexican gay cultures. It's a lot of fun.

Yes the Aussies are very proud of the Priscilla movie.. I think they see it as their Gay identity movie? They love the movie Grease and ABBA as well. I cannot turn on the radio one day without hearing ABBA, and we're talking about the hip stations, not some oldies but goodies one lol.

I've always been perceptive mate, it just seems that of late this type of archaic attitude just really gets my goat, usually I just write it off as expected (like Lee said above), but it just seems to piss me off no end of late. Actually narrow-mindedness of ANY description seems to be doing that to me of late.
